I'd Cross The World For Someone Like You...

Up until just recently, I had dubbed June 10th, 2011 “the GREATEST night of my life.” After the AMAZING and UNFORGETTABLE events that happened in San Francisco two weeks ago on the “Friday Is Forever” tour with Action Item, Hot Chelle Rae, The Summer Set, and We The Kings, I can easily say that August 12, 2011 has OFFICIALLY taken that number one spot for the GREATEST night of my life. =}

I woke up that morning at 4am, because my original plan was to leave the house between 5:30-6am, since it’s about a 6 hour drive from my house to San Francisco. We (being my brother and I) didn’t end up leaving till around 7, because he didnt wake up until 6:15! Anyways…we finally get to San Fran around 1pm, but we stopped at my cousin’s house first to drop off all our stuff. I remember sitting in my cousin’s room, seeing Action Item’s tweets that they just left their hotel room, and I started thinking: “oh man. I’m gonna miss them when they arrive at the venue!” So, after chatting with my relatives for about an hour, we left so that my brother could drop me off at the venue so that I could meet up with Alejandra who was already waiting in line.

I get to the venue around 2:15-ish. As I’m calling to find out where Alejandra is, I see my other friend Patty and her friend Evie waiting at the end of the line. So I go over to say hi to them and show them Action Item’s present. Then Alejandra finds me and asks Patty and Evie if they’d like to come up to the front of the line with us too. We had like 4 hours to kill before the doors even opened, so we were just talking to kill the time. Then around 3pm, the guys tweeted that they were on the Golden Gate Bridge…which was only like 3 miles away from the venue. I can definitely we were all excited when they said they were that close. They didn’t show up at the venue till like 4:30! haha. But when I saw Ant get out of the van, I got the BIGGEST smile on my face. (I love him!)

Anyways…we still had like 90 minutes before the doors even opened! While we were waiting in line, I got to meet Sam Miller from the band Paradise Fears. He’s such a sweetheart! I bought their CD after listening to a little clip, and when I asked Sam to sign my CD, he wrote on the insert: “I think Melody is the prettiest name in the world.” Awwwww. XD Oh, and then I FINALLY got to meet Monique for the first time in person! So random conversations, and stand by compliments with people driving by, and tourists on site-seeing busses filled the time until we went into the venue.

As soon as the doors opened, Patty, Alejandra and I basically ran inside to find Action Item’s merch table so that we could buy ‘the box’. I got Box #16, Patty got #17, Alicia got #18, and Alejandra bought #19! After buying the box, I was completely calm and ready to enjoy the concert. So Alicia, Patty and I went over to Ant’s side of the stage and basically just chatted until the show started. The lights went down and the show started..and Action Item completely killed it! It was amazing!! After their set, Brian said that they were going to be in the lobby meeting fans.

Right then, the three of us went into the lobby to wait for them, and then Patty comes running back to us and goes: I just saw Anthony! (and like two seconds later, he turns the corner right to where we were waiting!) Ant: Hi guys! Me: Anthony this balloon is for you. It’s decorated with AI twitter TT’s and stuff. Ant: This is awesome! I really love this. Thank you! Me: You’re welcome. Could I get a picture with you? Ant: Absolutely. (So we take our picture and he looks SOOOO ADORABLE!) After meeting Ant, we tried to find Brian but the guys had to go backstage since Hot Chelle Rae was about to come out on stage. **Side note: I had heard from other fans who met Ant after us, saying that he was asking them if they liked his balloon. - Another fatty smile on my face. xD**

It was my first time seeing Hot Chelle Rae, The Summer Set, and We The Kings perform live…but they were all AMAZING. I had an AWESOME time! I don’t remember which song it was, but when WTK asked the audience to jump up and down at the same time…oh man, the floor was bouncing up and down soooo bad like a freakin’ bounce castle! Haha. I remember looking at Alicia and being like: this can’t be good for the floor. haha.

It was the end of the concert, and the four of us were all together, still wondering how and when we were going to find out where the box was going to be happening. We were waiting outside and we ran into Dan, and Alicia was like: Ask Dan! Someone ask Dan.” *silence* and Dan walks away. Alicia: haha, no one wanted to ask! Then we see Ant, and I was like: Someone should ask Anthony. Patty: Um, not me. Me: Haha, fine I’ll do it. Hey Anthony. When do we find out about the box? Ant: Really soon. I’m going inside right now to send the details. =D”

So we’re waiting..and then Patty’s phone starts ringing with a Restricted number. She answers and it’s Dan! Then a few minutes later, Ant calls Alejandra and starts singing the box location to her on the phone and Patty, Alicia, and I are just dying of laughter. Then a minute later, Mark calls my phone. A few minutes later, we’re in the car heading to the box location. We get to Denny’s and the guys aren’t even there yet. We finally see the van pull up and park and Blake comes out and tells us to go inside since there’s already a section set up for us. So the 4 of us grab the 4 seater booth, and we waited for the guys.

This one girl wanted to scare the guys when they came inside, so she hid behind a wall and she was like (to us since we had the best view of them walking into the restaurant) if we could let her know when they were coming. SO like 15 minutes later, here comes the guys, and Mark was the first one to walk in, and she was all: boo! and Mark was like: “Ahhhh!” and the four of us were just laughing!

So the guys spent the duration of the box mingling with all the fans. Mark was the first one to come chat with us, and he was the one I gave the band present too. Me: Mark! Would you like your present now? Mark: What? You got me a present? Me: Well, it’s a band present for you and the guys, so you have to share it. Mark: hah, yessss. I have a present! So I give Mark the book, and as he’s looking through it he goes: Wow, this is awesome. Some of these pictures are just recent too! You guys are on your A Game!” Alicia: Well, Melody is. She’s the one who made the present. Mark: Man, at least I’m wearing a different clothes in all these pictures, cuz that would be bad! hahaha. Thank you, this is amazing! (and then Mark gives me a huge hug and then Ant comes over).

Us: Hi Anthony! Ant: What’s up guys? Me: Oh I just gave Mark your guys’ present. Ant: Oh yeah? Mark! Let me see the present! Mark: I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have MY present, and you can’t see it! (hahaha) Ant: Fine, be that way. I’m gonna take the rest of your milkshake. Me: Hey Ant, if I called my friend could you talk to her really quick? She was supposed to go to the show tomorrow, but it was sold out, so now she can’t go. Ant: Oh yeah, absolutely. I’d love to talk to her.” So I dial Megan’s number and I hand the phone over to Ant. They chat for a couple minutes. “Wait what. I don’t know what those words mean. Oh yeah, what’s up Megan? oh oh, sure, what’s up Megan?” and the 4 of us are just laughing the whole time. Me: So, what did she say? Ant: Oh, it’s a secret between me and Megan. *smile* Me: I know what she asked. Would you actually do it? (then Ant takes a sip of his milkshake and gets this super adorable grin on his face and nods ‘yes’). So I instantly get this huge smile on my face, and then Patty takes the picture of Ant giving me a kiss on the cheek. And I remember looking at Alicia and Alejandra and them both being like: Awwwwww, oh my god. (I totally blushed, I’m not gonna lie. But that one was of the greatest highlights of that night). I showed Ant the shirt that I made, and he LOVED it! We chatted for a little bit more and talked about boy bands and how he was a fan of Brian from BSB and JC from NSYNC, and then Ant signed all of our stuff, and I remember him drawing a smiley face on Alicia’s heart sign, and then went to another table to mingle with more fans.

Next came Brian. The first thing I remember about Brian coming over was him politely asking us if he could have one of our chicken strips because he’s been eyeing one all night. We talked about concerts we went to this summer, and if we enjoyed the show, and plans for the fall, and the details on what the box is gonna be like for the fall tour. Then we started talking about the “100 Days of Summer” videos: the harry potter jelly beans and the cinnabon video. oh man. “the worst part was that we had to meet fans after eating those jelly beans so I had like jalapeno and booger breath, and I didn’t want to talk all that much.” “(all serious: Who gave you Cinnabons. Gimme me one!”) haha. Then Brian starts talking about the Wherever You Are tour memories and sometimes having to share a dressing room with Katelyn. “She is such a girly girl! I love her but she’s like an annoying little sister!” “Move your freakin’ stuff! *kick*” (HAHA! and the re-inactment that Brian did with that quote was HILARIOUS!!!!!) Then we started talking about music acts. (Me talking about an artist named Robyn:) She’s so old! Brian: (haha) “Ew, she’s so old!” Me: haha, I meant that she was all popular when I was in junior high…13 years ago! Brian: ha! I know right?! (Oh and then Brian asking us how old we are, and him telling me that I don’t look like I’m 26.)

Then Dan came over to come talk with us, and eating our food. I remember Mark saying something like: Dan! Stop eating their food! And Alicia was like: Hey! He can eat our food if he wants! He’s Dan Brozek!” Then Alicia was like: Oh, Brian forgot his water. Dan: Ha, oh welllll. (Then he takes Brian’s water, and starts pouring it into his glass, and this catches Mark’s attention so he makes a weird face at Dan.) Alicia sees it, starts laughing and Dan goes: what’s so funny? Alicia: Mark just made a funny face at you. (and then this starts a mini bickering war..and that was just so entertaining.!) Then as Dan is eating, a small piece falls into his water and he tries to suck it up through his straw and Alicia goes: Ewww. Me: haha what. It’s going to the same place anyways. Dan: haha, wait. what did you just say? Me: haha, whether you eat it or drink it, it’s still going in your mouth. *insert table laughter here*. We talk to Dan a little bit more, and then we had to go outside for the acoustic performance. (By this time, it was already past 1:30am). *We didn’t get to chat with David since we ran out of time*

By now we’re outside, in the cold San Francisco weather, and then Ant and Brian perform “The Farther The Distance”, “Boy With The Microphone”, and “Satellite”. We take our group box picture, and I stood over by Dan and he puts his arm around me. By this point, we had to say our goodbyes because the guys had to leave, and as Ant was calling me over to say goodbye, Dan wouldn’t let go of me. I was like: Umm, I can’t cause Dan won’t let go! Dan: I don’t want to let go because you’re keeping me warm! I don’t wanna be cold!” I finally get over to Ant and he gives me a hug and says: I hope you had a great time tonight. I can’t wait to see you again!” Then Mark goes: Melodyyyy! It was great seeing you again. Hopefully we’ll see you in the fall when we come back!”

**There were a TON of little moments and mini conversations that happened that I’m not going to mention, but honestly, everything from that night was AMAZING. I wouldn’t change or trade that experience for anything. I miss you (Anthony, Brian, Mark, Dan, and David) so muchhh, and I can’t wait to come see you again this fall! To Alicia, Patty, & Alejandra: My concert sisters. I miss you girls too! Hopefully we can get together at another show sooooon!**
